Description

Sliding Guides are so-called jigs made of plastic by injection moulding. The jig is tapered from the handle towards the tip. The jigs are available in different thicknesses so that, depending on the sagittal level of the patient, it is possible to block the rows of upper and lower teeth for determination of the jaw relation in dentate patients.

The jig is placed between the anterior front teeth for minimal blocking of the teeth rows. The patient holds this jig between the teeth for a certain time
and is deprogrammed (with regard to the occlusal contacts when assigning upper to lower jaw). This leads to unmanipulated guidance of the temporomandibular joints into their rotation center. The resulting positional relationship is fixed with bite registration material and later used to mount the lower jaw model against the upper jaw model in the articulator.

The shelf life of the Sliding Guide is 10 years
