Oraltec NZ Ltd is proud to present a one-day seminar from two of the most recognised restorative and periodontal specialists in New Zealand, Drs Nicholas Cole and Gilbert Watson. The event will also include hands on workstations showing the use of equipment instruments and products used by the presenters.




Graduated in 1984 with his dental degree. After 14 years in private practice he returned to Otago to complete a three-year postgraduate masters degree specialising in Prosthodontics. Gilbert recently completed a two-year tenure as the President of the New Zealand Academy of Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentists. 



Graduated BDS from the University of Otago in 1981. In 1986 he completed an MSc in Periodontology at the University of London. Since 2000 he has been in specialist practice at St Marks Road. He practices a mix of periodontology and implant dentistry.


Dr Nicholas Cole, specialist periodontist and Dr Gilbert Watson - specialist prosthodontist, will present some challenging cases they have treated as a team or in conjunction with other general practitioners and specialists. This will highlight some of the potential pitfalls, offer solutions, and also the “maybe we should have done it differently” scenario.  The communication between referring dentist, the patient and the technician will be stressed as well as specific techniques and materials used to give the best possible patient outcome.

Nick and Gilbert have been working together on patients in the same premises for nearly twenty years and have good understanding of the benefits of a team approach and the best instruments and products available.

The day will alternate between formal lectures and interactive workstations which will include

  • Techniques of pressure forming
  • Air abrasion
  • Uses off red band - increasing handpieces
  • Articulation and Facebow
