Aside from his passion for dentistry, John is an avid snow skier and loves to be on the water or playing golf.

Business Manager Oraltec - Christine Bell

Christine joined Oraltec as General Manager in January 1999. Christine has an extensive knowledge of dental products and began developing her skills within the dental industry in 1988 when she joined Shalfoon Dental as Marketing Manager.  She completed a Business Diploma in Marketing in 1992 and then became the New Zealand Manager of Shalfoon Dental before leaving in the mid nineties to have a family.

Christine’s background lies in the healthcare industry, in science related areas – Christine is a qualified Medical Laboratory Technologist and has had extensive experience in various healthcare companies.

She feels Oraltec has a special place in the dental industry as it is one of very few New Zealand owned and operated dental supply companies.  It represents a number of smaller, specialised manufacturers from around the world who are focused on narrow product ranges which she believes ensures high quality innovative products.

Laboratory Specialist- Sophie Giles

Sophie has been involved in dentistry since 2012, initially completing a 3 year apprenticeship in Germany (this is a course that is recognised throughout Europe) which is her country of origin.  She worked in a large dental practice in Berlin before she and her husband who is a New Zealander decided to relocate to New Zealand. Since arriving in New Zealand in January 2021 she has worked with Oraltec.  Recently she has taken on the role of Laboratory Specialist which is an area of dentistry that she is especially interested in.  It suits her background well as Amann Girrbach, Kulzer and Scheu are all German companies that manufacture dental products and equipment used in dental laboratories.

She is proud to work for a New Zealand owned company which cares about customers and patients and lines up with her existing beliefs and values.  She enjoys building relationships with customers and is motivated to provide solutions.

Outside of work Sophie enjoys travelling and taking advantage of New Zealands beautiful walks and beaches. With Sophies family being in Germany she tries to go back for visits as often as possible.

Sales Manager - Leonie Fergusson

Leonie is the Oraltec Sales Manager and has been with the company since 2019.  Many of you will have either met or know Leonie due to her extensive career in dentistry in New Zealand.  Leonie enjoys helping dental professionals and their staff and utilises a consultative approach via education and individual customer support.  She has transitioned from a background in nursing, sales management, practice management as well as highly specialised work with dental implants.  Leonie strives to consistently deliver quality service and support to key customers.  Her passion in both her work and personal life has always been to help others be their best.  She gains a great deal of satisfaction from setting up individuals and teams with the necessary tools for their success.  In the dental practice this has included running team days where lead dentists and their teams can uncover more about one another and share tools that lead to a better customer experience.  If the dental practice runs smoothly and efficiently with a cohesive team and quality products then it is a recipe for success for all concerned and will result in better patient outcomes.
